A great business tool on the web front for people, whether in sales or career movement, is True Divas Get Linked. It's the MySpace or Facebook for professionals that helps you stay connected, get referral business and get introductions to the people you want to meet.
The community allows you to reach out to a client or prospective network before you build that relationship of networking or doing business with someone.
I have been on the social networking scene for a while now . While the normal for Facebook and MySpace would be to collect as many "friends" as you can, I think you need to be a bit more selective when adding contacts here on True Divas Get Linked. Because it is a professional tool you need to:
1. Know the people in your network - having them in your network is equal to endorsement,
2. Stay in touch with your contacts - if you don't communicate with someone at a minimum of once in six months are they really a contact?,
3. Keep your account active - if you are going to have a social networking account, whether True Divas Get linked, Myspace, FaceBook or any other, you've got to spend a little time on it,
4. Review and remove regularly - Check out your contacts to see if they have changed occupations, who they've added to their contact list or remove them if they are stagnant.
5. Check out your friends' contacts - In six degrees of separation you can meet anyone you want to meet. Whoever you want to meet probably knows somebody that knows you.
